  Ana C. Scola (b. 1988, Madrid, Spain) is a contemporary visual artist with a nomadic upbringing across Moscow, Rome, Windhoek, Vienna, Geneva, and Stockholm. Based in Madrid, she holds a degree in Advertisement from the Complutense University of Madrid and has pursued further studies in graphic design, drawing, and oil painting. Her art is featured in national and international private collections.

  Her recent work combines charcoal drawing and oil paint on cotton canvas, exploring the use of light through color and values. Depicting moving human forms in black and white against plain backgrounds with a naive color palette, it employs linear lines of bright colors to create simple, geometric shapes on top of the figures.

  This representation tries to reflect on the notion of free will and its limitations. It invites the viewer to think about how much of ourselves is just placed by outside sources and influences our decisions and how much we are aware of it throughout our lifetime.

   Ana C. Scola (n. 1988, Madrid, España) es una artista visual contemporánea que creció en Moscú, Roma, Windhoek, Viena, Ginebra y Estocolmo. Actualmente vive  en Madrid.  Posee una licenciatura en Publicidad y RRPP de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y realizó estudios adicionales en diseño gráfico, dibujo y pintura al óleo. Su obra forma parte de  colecciones privadas nacionales e internacionales.

  Sus últimos trabajos combinan el dibujo al carboncillo y la pintura al óleo sobre lienzos de algodón, explorando el uso de la luz a través del color y los valores. Representando formas humanas en movimiento en blanco y negro, sobre fondos simples con una paleta de colores naive, emplea líneas de colores brillantes buscando crear formas geométricas elementales sobre las figuras.

  Esta composición intenta reflexionar sobre la noción de la libertad y sus limitaciones. Invita al espectador a plantearse cuánto de nosotros mismos está definido por influencias externas y como éstas consiguen determinar nuestras decisiones. Además de cuestionar hasta qué punto se es consciente de ello a lo largo de nuestra vida.
